  • History & theory of CFT

  • Anatomy structures of the Craniosacral Fascial System

  • How to assess the brain cycle

  • How to palpate the sacral cycle

  • How to engage fascia for global release in the body

  • Dural tube release for optimum flow of cerebrospinal fluid

  • Fascial release of oral structures

  • How to release the four main CFT structures

  • How to feel fascial strain patterns

  • How to feel fascia thru sensory activities

  • Proper body mechanics while performing CFT

What is CFT?
Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT) is the work of Dr. Barry Gillespie. Based on his theory that the Craniosacral and Fascial systems are not separate, but one interconnected system, CFT blends two established modalities: Cranial Sacral Therapy and Myofascial Release, into a single, highly effective therapy.

This intricate system originates in the body's core around the brain and spinal cord and extends through the body's fascial web which surrounds and permeates every structure down to the cellular level. A healthy system allows for the free flow of Cerebrospinal fluid from the brain, down the spine, to the sacrum, and into the connective tissue (fascia). Strain anywhere in that system may affect brain function and mobility. Our brains must expand and contract, and any restrictions or damage to this motion, such as those due to difficult birth or head injury, can greatly effect our health and wellbeing.

CFT techniques are designed to gently unwind accumulated fascial strain, allowing optimal mobility and therefore better brain function. When the Craniosacral Fascial system is loose and open, there is optimal flow of cerebrospinal fluid to help nourish the body and cleanse toxins.

The Brain has to breathe. The Fascia has to be free.

All of us have experienced trauma. Difficult birth, surgery, auto accidents, falls, concussions. dental/orthodontics, vaccinations. and emotional trauma to name a few.

What you will learn

This is the foundation for mastering CFT. During this hands on learning three day seminar, you will explore the Craniosacral fascial system. You will learn gentle, yet powerful techniques with a great deal of treatment being exchanged during the seminar. Most participants find it personally and professionally transforming.

CFT can also be used to enhance or compliment other therapy. Our students come from a wide variety of backgrounds, though no prior medical or bodywork experience is required to attend the training. Parents are encouraged to learn CFT so they can obtain the skills needed to work on their children.

Workshops with CFT Global are hands-on and practical. A great deal of treatment is exchanged during the training, giving participants lots of time to practice and feel confident about using CFT techniques. CFT Global's teaching methods also incorporate sensory training and grounding exercises for strengthening crucial right brain awareness. Participants find it personally and professionally transforming.
